Identify standards-based versus always-on proprietary power, then compare exact passive voltage and pair/polarity declarations before any connection.

Passive PoE is not an IEEE class
An always-on source may energize conductors without detecting a compatible PD. Matching “24 V” labels is not enough: the powered pairset, polarity, current, connector use, isolation, and exact model documentation must also agree.
