Will the switch power every device at once?
Add consistent per-device planning figures, reserve headroom, and keep the total switch budget separate from each port’s class ceiling.

Use one planning convention
If your switch reserves class power, enter class allocation consistently. If the vendor provides a defensible maximum device draw policy, use that consistently instead. Mixing measured idle draw for one device with class maximum for another hides the actual assumption.
